OUR STORY
Building Equality in Architecture North (BEA North) is a regional chapter of Building Equality in Architecture. We are a volunteer-run initiative dedicated to supporting, celebrating, and connecting architects, designers, and emerging professionals across the North. We champion equity in the built environment and strengthen the presence of diverse voices within our profession.
BEA North was founded to respond to the unique realities of practicing architecture in the North—its distances, its diverse communities, its rich histories, and its distinct landscape. While connected to BEA’s national mission, our chapter focuses on the needs, challenges, and opportunities specific to Northern practitioners. We work to build connections across cities, small towns, remote regions, and everywhere in between—strengthening our community through visibility, mentorship, and shared experience.
We create opportunities for connection and mentorship. We host talks, gatherings, and collaborative events that bring our community together. We highlight Northern practitioners and stories that deserve to be seen and heard. And we build networks that uplift, support, and expand access to leadership.
